The control of our thought life!!

We have no control over how we feel, how we act- our attitudes, and actions- except as they are determined by our thoughts. All these elements are irrevocably tied together. But since we do have control over what we think, it is possible to control our attitudes and actions…All thoughts can be divided into two basic categories: true and false. The thoughts that come from God are true. He is the God of all truth and has sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in us and to guide us into all truth. If I can receive God’s thoughts, I can think the truth. Therefore I will have the right attitudes and actions. How do you get the air out of a glass? By filling it with water. How do you get rid of wrong and untrue thoughts? By filling your mind with true and right thoughts from God. The control of our thought life, then, comes by thinking God’s thoughts with Him.    Peter Lord

HIS EYES ARE ON THE SPARROW

When we think about our day you Can be comforted in the fact that Jesus is watching over you. No matter what you do where you go or even if you try to hide.(remember Adam tried to hide). Jesus is you future. He is your portion. Keep Him the centre of your heart and your day. He knows about the sparrows. He knows about your heart open it to Him! He will direct your path.

We hear the words and we even may see the action. How hard can it be to live by the words of Jesus, you know as we tell our kids. "Do what I say not what I do". If we live by how Jesus lived ( a life of purity and honesty, love, compassion, etc) and if we do what Jesus says we would be on our way to a better life. But, our human nature always comes into play and by that we are always tempted when we are not strong. So if you want to live as Jesus did and say what Jesus says then you (and mostly me) have to get into the Word of God and Pray continuously day in and day out. Keep Jesus the centre of your life.

Humor for the day!

Friday today. Thought I would leave you with a little humor.

     A young student reported for a final examination that consisted of only true/false questions.

    The student took a seat in the hall and stared at the test for five minutes.

He then removed a coin from his pocket and

started tossing the coin and marking the answer sheet;

heads for true, tails for false.

   The young student finished the exam in just 30 minutes,

while the rest of the class was sweating it out.

   Suddenly, during the last five minutes, the young student began

desperately throwing the coin and scribbling frantically.

   The moderator, alarmed approached the student and ask what was going on.

   "Well, I finished the exam in half an hour," said the student.

"But I thought I ought to recheck my answers."

GIFT

When you find you self too busy to really have some time alone, you need to remember that there are others around you that nee you attention as well. You have your special someone, Mine is my gorgeous Lorie. There needs to be some time for her as well. Always remember that she/he will support you, but you need to recognize that support and appreciate the person giving it. Saying I love you, give a hug, a slight touch now and then, or even gaze into their eyes, they need to know that they are important too.

My love and my life I am sorry for not giving you more attention.Forgive me. I Love you. You are my gift from heaven. I LOVE YOU.

From the greatest of all gifts, salvation in Christ, to the material blessings of any ordinary day (hot water, a pair of legs that work, a cup of coffee, a job to do and strength to do it), every good gift comes down from the Father of Lights. Every one of them is to be received gladly and, like gifts people give us, with thanks. Sometimes we want things we were not meant to have. Because He loves us, the Father says no. Faith trusts that no. Faith is willing not to have what God is not willing to give. Furthermore, faith does not insist upon an explanation. It is enough to know His promise to give what is good- He knows so much more about that than we do.

Regular Maintenance

Today I take the van in for regular maintenance. We in our live need regular maintenance as well. Keep the oil changed. When you just try to go in life without checking the oil you might find yourself stagnant. What I mean is If you don't keep your self in the Word and keep  your prayer time up you might find that the last oil change was not sufficient enough to sustain you.

How Very true of all of us. This fits along with what Pastor Dave preached on Sunday.

A story is told about Daniel Webster. During his days in the city of Washington the great statesman attended worship regularly in a little rural church outside the city. Some of his colleagues were disturbed about it. They said it lacked prestige. And they asked him why he attended a little church in the sticks when he would be welcome in the more fashionable churches in Washington. Webster answered that when he attended church in Washington they preached to Daniel Webster, the statesman, but in the little church, they preached to Daniel Webster, the sinner.

LORD, THANK YOU

Can we always see the bright side or positive in all things.

Lord, thank you for this sink of dirty dishes; we have plenty of food to eat.

Thank you for this pile of dirty, stinky laundry; we have plenty of nice clothes to wear.

And I would like to thank you, Lord, for those unmade beds;

they were so warm and comfortable last night.

I know that many have no bed.

My thanks to you, Lord, for this bathroom, complete with all the splattered mirrors,

soggy, grimy towels and dirty lavatory; they are so convenient.

Thank you for this finger-smudged refrigerator that needs defrosting so badly;

It has served us faithfully for many years.

It is full of cold drinks and enough leftovers for two or three meals.

Thank you, Lord, for this oven that absolutely must be cleaned today;

it has baked so many things over the years.

The whole family is grateful for that tall grass that needs mowing, the lawn that needs raking;

we all enjoy the yard.

Thank you, Lord, even for that slamming screen door.

My kids are healthy and able to run and play.

Lord, the presence of all these chores awaiting me says You have richly blessed my family.

I shall do them cheerfully and I shall do them gratefully.

Today

Soon the snow will fall and we will have winter. Did we ever have a summer?
There was one day I remember that was hot!
Or was I dreaming.
No I defiantly remember that day.

I remember watching a movie that all it did was rain outside, and in this movie the sun would come out one time a year. This is what we are beginning to feel like. If I see an Ark floating by i will sure wonder. Wait God promised never to flood the earth again.

You see all these doomsday movies that have been coming out. 2012, Day After Tomorrow, etc. I think if they were to read there Bible. They will see that God is in control.

FIX IT

You know when you think you have it and you try it and it turns out you don't have it after all. I am talking about fixing things. Never is it just a simple fix. when you work hard to get it just right you have to improvise at time.

We should never improvise with our Jesus. When you are down and you need a little fixing don't try it on your own. It usually never works. Give it to Jesus and He will guide you .

I look at the heavens and I see the stars

Stop to smell the Roses

So the business of your day seems to make you tired or exhausted. Do you ever take the time to just stop and "smell the roses"? Or do you take the time just to reveal in the awesomeness of your surroundings?

Perhaps it is time to take that one moment through out  your day to look at your surroundings, look at the awesomeness of what God has created. This whole world is not just some accidental goo hopping mumbojumbo, this creation of God's is an amazing place.

Take the time today to see what God has done for you and how you can serve Him through out your day.

To Serve the One Who Never Changes.

Just when you think you have it all something new comes to the market
You buy it and then you think now I have it all and then what happens?
Something new comes to the market.

We cannot keep up in this world with the ever changing technology and all the new products going to market. If we were to try we would never get ahead.

If we were just to look to the One who controls the world and controls how we should live our lives then there would be no need to get the best. Just a need to serve Him.
