Rose Petals

Well there are only 4 more sleeps until the “romantic time of year” comes along.

I mentioned how to romance your wife. Well Guys it is quite simple (ok it sounds simple).

I started romancing Lorie from the time we started dating, how you ask, well let me tell you. I was challenged by someone before we were married to buy my wife flowers every month, I did this and continued for around 18 years. ) I stopped by mutual consent we bought a house). This was just a way for me to express my love to her.

There are plenty of other ways guys. You could walk with her when in the mall hold her hand, put your arm around her give her a hug when you see her pay close attention to detail in her life.

Did you know that every time you spend time with her it makes her heart grow fonder, there is a catch, you need to truly want to spend that time with her you can’t do it just to do it, I mean it has to be something that you want to want.

Like I have said before a special touch a brush of your hand on her cheek or arm or other parts (hehe), this will build up in her a bank of love that will get to the point of overflowing (not my thought but Gary Chapman in his book The five Love Languages –Men’s edition.).

Now I don’t know if you think it sounds easy, it is not easy, it takes work and will you mess up, well I have and then I had to fill that bank again. Guys you all like to work hard and are proud of your accomplishments, well here is a challenge for you, romance your wives for the rest of the week and see how you feel, and you will see a difference in your relationship.

One day I booked off of work early (our 20th anniversary). I knew the kids were not going to be home, so I bought 20 roses and rose-petals, I closed all the curtains in the house. I put white sheets down on the floor and lined up candles on the sheets on both sides (kind of like a runway) then I put the rose petals on the sheet in between the candles.

I put this all together and I will tell you tomorrow what happened…
